NTA CSIR UGC NET Exam Eligibility Criteria
The condinates who Qualify in NTA CSIR UGC NET Exam 2024 shall have to fullfill the following Eligibility Requirement for Application form.
- M.Sc / Equivalent Degree with 55 % Marks for General / OBC / Ews Candidates.
- For SC / ST and PH Candidates : 50 % Marks.
- Integrated Course and B.E / B.Tech / B. Pharma and MBBS Candidates are also Eligible for CSIR NET 2024.

Answer : Well, the answer lies in the purpose of the application. If a candidate aspires to become a Lecturer or Assistant Professor in a college or university, they must take the NET exam. However, the aspirants who wish to pursue research in their chosen field must also apply for JRF.
Question : What is the salary of JRF in CSIR ?
Answer : CSIR JRF GATE Salary: Individuals who pass the test become eligible for the CSIR UGC NET salary, which varies between Rs. 37,000 to 67,000 monthly, contingent upon the position and the institution. Experience and promotions can increase this salary to INR 1,33,000 – 1,41,000.
Question : Who is eligible for CSIR UGC JRF ?
Answer : CSIR NET JRF Educational Qualifications M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/B. Tech/ B. Pharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Third gender and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are eligible.
Question : What is the rule of JRF in CSIR ?
Answer : Candidates with bachelor’s degree, whether Science, engineering or any other discipline, will be eligible for fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D. programme within the validity period of JRF-NET certificate which is two years from the effective date of fellowship as mentioned.
Question : Which is better PhD or NET ?
Answer : NET is minimum Qualification for Assistant Professor. You can get registered for PhD with NET but most good universities will not appoint you for teaching without PhD. NET without PhD in not very good eligibility for appointment as Assistant professor especially for General category candidates.
Question : Is UGC NET easier than CSIR NET ?
Answer : Both exams are taken at national level. So, the difficulty level of the exam lies between moderate to tough. However, the CSIR NET is much tougher than the UGC NET exam.
Question : Can I apply both UGC and CSIR NET ?
Answer : For chemistry, or any science subject, you have to appear for CSIR NET and not UGC NET. There’s no choice between these two papers. If your subject is chemistry, then you can only appear for CSIR NET and not UGC NET Exam. Because UGC NET Exam is not conducted for science subjects.
